TTT Policy Statement
1 STATEMENT OF GENERAL POLICY
The Triple Threat Academy of Performing Arts is committed:
.t(a) To continually assess health and safety risks and child protection issues arising from our work activities
.t(b) To provide adequate control of those health and safety and child protection risks
.t(c) To ensure all employees are competent to carry out their roles
.t(d) To provide information and instruction whilst maintain safe and healthy working conditions
.t(e) To maintain valid DBS certificate for all staff and any members who regularly come into contact with children
t.t(f) To act with integrity ensuring a high standard of work is achieved at all times
t.t(g) To give students the right to opportunity regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexuality or belief
STUDENTS & PARENTS/GUARDIANS
(a) Students and parents/guardians are requested to treat others as they would expect to be treated themselves, negative comments about others appearance or ability are not welcomed; positivity and encouragement are.
The Triple Threat Academy of Performing Arts promote a positive environment for children and all members and their families are requested to invest in this
.(b) The Triple Threat Academy of Performing Arts has a Child Protection Policy and Health and Safety Policy. Parents/guardians are requested to be aware of these policies in the interest of serving the wellbeing of the children. Parents/guardians are asked to disclose any medical information, allergies or injuries that students may have on a medical form and provide any amendments to this information if necessary; parents/guardians are also asked to recognise that as with any physical activity there can be a risk of injury and therefore release The Triple Threat Academy of Performing Arts and its teachers from any liability.
(c) Parents and any adult who are not involved in the teaching of pupils or running of the academy are prohibited from entering classes, unless requested to do so by Principle of The Triple threat Academy of Performing Arts.
CHILD PROTECTION
Overall and final responsibility for Child Protection Policies and Diversity within The Triple Threat Academy members are that of the Principle Mrs Rebecca Taylor-Grayson, who must:
(a) Provide a happy and safe environment where children can learn
.(b) Provide professional tuition from a qualified teacher with appropriate facilities following safe practise
(c) Any person teaching for The Triple Threat Academy of Performing arts will be in receipt of a clear Criminal Record Bureau disclosure certificate (DBS check); it is a legal requirement that whenever children of compulsory school age are engaged in public performances or entertainment under a licence issued by the local authority, they must be supervised at all times by an approved chaperone.
4 HEALTH AND SAFETY
The overall and final responsibility for the health and safety of The Triple Threat Academy members is that of Principle Mrs Rebecca Taylor-Grayson who must:
(a) Ensure risk assessments have been carried out and make arrangements for implementing health and safety measure identified by the assessment .
(b) Ensure all employees / Freelance / Volunteers of The Triple Threat Academy of Performing Arts and students are made aware of those health and safety measures these assessments will be reviewed each year or if the activity alters; reports certain injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences to the appropriate health and safety enforcing authority in accordance with RIDDOR
(c) RIDDOR requires the reporting of deaths, major injuries, accidents resulting in over three day injury, diseases, dangerous occurrences and gas incidents. In addition to this The Triple Threat Academy of Performing Arts will keep a record of these occurrences.
(d) Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by what they do or do not do co-operating on all matters of health and safety.
5 FIRE SAFETY
All members of The Triple Threat Academy of Performing Arts will familiarise themselves with the evacuation procedures for each working environment and comply with those procedures in the event of a fire. The Triple Threat Academy of Performing Arts does not accept responsibility for personal property lost in the event of a fire. All Triple Threat Academy of Performing Arts students are registered in case of evacuation.
6 THE ENVIRONMENT
The day to day running of the Triple Threat Academy of Performing Arts will take place at the Clipstone Scout Hut, Mansfield Rd, Mansfield, Notts, NG22; The Triple Threat Academy of Performing Arts will undergo Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) to conform to its responsibility for electrical safety under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
All members within The Triple Threat Academy of Performing Arts are responsible for ensuring safe, respectful practice, with wearing suitable clothing, wearing of the correct indoor shoes for the class being carried out, wearing protective clothing if necessary, taking responsibility for appropriate warm/cool down, taking care of others in the space,
